Welcome to Sheetly. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Sheetly app ("the App"), published by Sheetly ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

In plain English

Use Sheetly for your own practice, only scan music you're allowed to copy, and remember that automatic recognition isn't perfect. Pro is a subscription billed by Apple or Google — you can cancel it any time in your store settings.

The app

Sheetly converts photos of sheet music into interactive digital scores you can play back, follow, and practice with. The App is provided as-is, for personal use. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

Your account

You need an account to sync your scores across devices. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials safe, and not share your account with others. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for non-commercial purposes, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App
  • Use the App's scanning service in bulk, through automation, or to build a competing product or dataset
  • Use the App for anything illegal

Your content & copyright

You keep ownership of the sheet music images you scan and the digital scores created from them. So that the App can work, you grant us a limited license to store and process your scans and scores for the purpose of providing the service to you.

Important: only scan sheet music you have the right to use — music you composed, public-domain works, or copies you are licensed to reproduce for personal practice. You are responsible for making sure your scans don't infringe anyone's copyright. We may remove content and/or suspend accounts in response to valid infringement notices.

Sheetly Pro

The App offers an optional paid upgrade called Sheetly Pro, which unlocks scanning and importing your own sheet music, the Ask Sheetly coach, exports, and the rest of the premium practice features. Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription:

  • Monthly — currently 149 kr per month
  • Yearly — currently 499 kr per year, with a free trial when one is offered on the purchase screen

Prices may change and vary with local App Store / Google Play pricing; the exact price, currency, and trial length are always shown on the purchase screen before you buy, and you'll be told before any change affects an existing subscription.

Important subscription terms (required by Apple):

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase — or, if your plan starts with a free trial, when that trial ends.
  • The subscription automatically renews at the same price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your App Store account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) after purchase.
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep Pro features until then.
  • Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • No refund is provided for the unused portion of a billing period.

Purchases & refunds

All in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. We do not handle payments and cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com, or to Google via your Google Play order history.

A Restore Purchases option is available in the App's settings to re-sync purchases on a new device or after reinstalling.

Scan accuracy

Sheet music recognition is automated and not perfect. Converted scores may contain wrong notes, missing markings, or other errors — especially from low-quality photos, handwritten scores, or dense notation. Sheetly is a practice aid: always check important passages against the original score, and don't rely on the App where accuracy is critical, such as graded exams or paid performances.

The AI coach

Ask Sheetly generates its answers with an AI model. It can be wrong, out of date, or confidently mistaken — treat its suggestions as one opinion about your practice, not as instruction from a qualified teacher, and never as medical advice about playing-related pain or injury. You are responsible for what you do with its answers.

Intellectual property

The App itself — including the Sheetly name, mascot, artwork, design, code, and sounds — is owned by Sheetly or its licensors. You may share screenshots and screen recordings of the App for personal, non-commercial purposes (we love seeing them), but you may not redistribute the App or its assets. Your scanned music remains yours, as described in section 04.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, or that any scan will convert accurately. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sheetly will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under Swedish or EU law.

Termination

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may stop offering the App or suspend access if you violate these Terms. Sections 04, 09, and 10 survive termination.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at the same URL with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
